Greg's XA Falcon Hardtop
I bought the XA coupe in Early 2005 in Bayswater in factory that was actually 2 roller doors down from a friend of mine's factory. But that's not how I had heard about it. It was advertised in the Trading Post and I was luckily enough to see it first. I didn't think about it too much as I was finding it very hard to find them, so we agreed on a price and I took it away the following week.

It sat in my garage for a few months before I got the motor started, thanks to my fiancee sticking her head under the bonnet with a can of RP7. It shot out a few flames through the carby and thank god it didn't catch Kylie's long blonde lochs on fire. It was very exciting for me when it started as I have never owned an old V8 pushrod motor. All my previous cars had been either a 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder (short time only) and a rotary. You will be glad to know the only thing that does it for me now is the sound of a Ford V8.

After that I started pulling it apart and in the mean time I was looking for someone to do the body work, as I found out from my last attempt at restoring a car my skill level wasn't really up to scratch. This coupe is a classic and I wanted the job done properly. After a few people pulling out after they said they would start on it I ended up taking to Alan Davies from ADR in Seaford , which in fact was one of the first people I wanted to do it but he couldn't do it at the time but now the timing is right and that is where it is today.

The theme is when I start putting it all back together is to leave it as a Falcon 500 in Red Pepper with black interior and try to leave it as original as possible. The motor will have to be a 351C (is there anything else) and the wheels are going to fill out the guards. I have bought a toploader for it and it had a disk brake 9 inch when I bought it which I will use, but other than that it will remain a Falcon 500.

The car by the numbers is;

Colour: Red Pepper
Engine: 250cc
Geabox: 4 speed Manual
Interior: Black

But when I got it as you can see by the picture was;

Colour: Blue
Engine: 351C
Gearbox: FMX Auto
Interior: Grey, Fawn and Black
