Motor sport is an exciting way to spend your leisure time. It's one sport that is open to all members of the family, whether as a spectator or competitor. It's one sport that gets the adrenaline really pumping. Most people who would like to participate in motor sport, start in the same place as almost every great motor sport personality -- in a "Car Club". The Holden Sporting Car Club of Victoria first came into being in 1972 at Garry & Warren Smith Holden of Oakleigh as The Torana Club of Victoria. In the early 1980's the club was renamed to the Holden Motor Sports Club of Victoria, and then to the Holden Sporting Car Club of Victoria.

You do not have to own or drive a Holden to join the club, compete in the club's events or to be awarded points towards the club championship. We participate in Circuit Sprints, Motorkhana's, Hillclimbs, Autocross, Rallies, Khanacross, Driver Training, Circuit Racing, Technical Evenings, Car Display Days, Touring Road Assemblies, Officiating at Motorsport Events, Social Events and much much more. We also have a "buddie" system where if you are new to the sport you will be assisted and directed in the discipline you choose.

The club is affiliated with the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) and as a member of the Group 5 series, offers many types of activities for all the family.
The club's magazine, "Holden Torque," is produced monthly and sent to all members. It includes reports from the committee, details of past and upcoming events, and other articles of general interest to our members.

Our monthly General Meetings, or "club nights" are held on the fourth Monday of each month (except December) at Bells Hotel, on the corner of Moray and Coventry Streets in South Melbourne. Meeting time is 7.30pm for an 8 o'clock start. Reports from the committee, films and videos, and occasional guest speakers, combine to make these fun nights to meet other members and pick up ideas on motor sport.
