I am truly saddened by the loss of Brocky, I remember watching him as a very young fella and being in awe of the way he drove, thinking to myself as everyone did “ I want to be like him one day”. I truly admired the way he gave of himself without asking anything in return, especially at the Brock's big day out this year and throughout his career. Although there are many who aspire to be like him there will only ever be one Peter Perfect. Condolences to the Brock family. May he never be forgotten…long live the legend.

My first memory of Brocky was as a young teenager when one of my friends older brothers took me in his Prince Skyline GT to see the Austin A30 HD Holden Hybrid that his mate had built up. We watched him race at Philip Island beating Porches, Jags Mustangs and Lotus Cortinas in this evil handling Beast. After seeing Brocky whip the mighty GTHOs at Bathurst I just had to have one. It was an awesome feat. He was also amazing in the Group A and C Commodores but I sat gobsmacked in front of the TV when leading The Great Race by six laps in the A9X he proceeded to demolish the lap record lifting wheels and sliding around bends. These feats were amazing enough but they were nothing to the way he brought petrol heads together both Holden and Ford to raise money to help their fellow man at Brocky's Big Day Out.Let's make this years BBDO the best ever in memory of Peter who was Perfect in so many ways.

The loss of Peter touched me deeply. A loss because as an excited teenager I watched him win the 1972 Bathurst 500, and followed his career ever since. It was because of his win that I bought an XU-1 as soon as I got a job; in turn I  joined the Torana Club of Victoria (as we were then) and started competing in 1980, always with Brock in mind; and then through the 90's until today came to recognize his ongoing dedication  to both motorsport and a wide range of social and environmental causes, something that made finally  made me understand what a completely rounded human being he was. While he will always be remembered with respect by those who knew him outside of motorsport, those of us who saw him at 11/10ths giving his all on the track will remain in awe of his ability. We walk in the footsteps of giants.

INSPIRATION:Drawing in of Breath, divine influence, He set the standard by which other drivers would be measured forever. He also happened to be a Great Australian. He inspired me to have a go, and helped to bring me into the Holden fold. He was always gentle in his public life, and never let his "Celebrity" become more prominant than his real personality. I will live my dreams because of Peter Brock.

Very sad to here of the loss of Peter Brock last Friday. What was very touching was at the drivers briefing at Winton last Sunday by Bruce with a minute silence marking the respect of a true racing car legend. Even thou we race Fords the loss is felt no less than others. Looking forward to running with you guys again at Sandown.

Total shock when we flicked the box on to find Peter Brock had been tragically killed in the Targa West Rally in Perth. The 9 times Bathurst champ had the rear of the car slide out on a bend and slam into a tree, which apparently has also taken out many motorcyclists before him. You no doubt have seen this by now as well. A sad day for all motorsport enthusiasts. My childhood hero is gone, I still can't believe it. At least he went doing what he loved. Condolences to his family and friends.

Even though it’s been said I have blue rice running through my veins (Ford and Rotary owner). I was saddened to hear the news on Friday the 8th of September 06 that Peter Brock had been killed in a Tarmac Rally in WA. It still makes me ill thinking that he has gone. Even though I usually was barracking for the likes of Moffat or Johnson I still always loved seeing Brock race, he was the best. Such a naturally gifted racer you knew he was always getting the most out of his car. His approach to racing was always very professional but he knew what the crowd and his fans wanted. I remember in Targa Tasmania 2004 on Prologue day, he approached one of the corners before leading onto the straight, thowing it sideways and continued on with a power slide with his arm out the window waving to the fans, such showmanship and skill. I will miss him.
